Pastor, Your Church Should Be Into Sex Education
How can we as a church be morally responsible while sending our children into the sexually threatening environment of our daily world without the information and biblical training they need to win the battle for their sexual purity? Our world is too sexually dangerous to subject our children to such risks. No! I don’t believe the church should be sexually educating children. That job belongs to parents. However, even though most parents believe that they should be talking to their children about sex they simply do not know how to go about it. Why? In most cases, their parents did not talk to them about it either. So, where these does this irresponsible cycle of sexual silence stop? I believe the church has a moral obligation to st ... This gift that God designed to bless marriage for redemptive purposes is being demeaned, desecrated, and perverted across our nation. Our public schools are secularizing sex. It dominates the conversation in the workplace. The music industry and media of our nation are shamelessly exploiting it. Satan knows that nothing complicates a person’s life more than sexual activities outside of marriage. So he seeks to make vulgar or common this gift that God intends to be kept sacred and wholly for marriage. The enemy attempts to erode the special role sexuality plays in God’s plan for our lives by making it the subject of careless conversation and public humor. Over time, participating in such activities dulls one’s conscience, blurs personal boundaries and makes you ... It is a moral question! However, the homosexual community is attempting to use the legal and political process to normalize this unnatural way of life and impose it on our nation. Morality is not defined by the courts. We need the courts to define what is legal and illegal, but they are poor arbiters of morality. Remember, at one time, the United States Supreme Court declared the buying and selling of human beings to be legal. And today they make it legal to destroy the unborn. There is a huge difference between what is illegal and what is immoral. Changing the law may declare something to be legal that formerly was illegal, but you can’t make something moral simply by making it legal. On what authority do we base our moral judgment of ... I suppose any prayer that is selfish or purely ritualistic could be viewed as uncreative prayer. And, of course, creative prayer can take many forms. I see it as prayer that flows out of meditation and reflection and consists of the believer’s intense awareness that the Holy Spirit is directing the subject and intent of his prayer. ... FALLING IN LOVE WITH YOUR FAMILY AGAIN The source of our greatest joys and the source of our greatest pain is our family. So there are circumstances that put family members at a distance from each other. And if family love is to survive, ways must be found to deal with these circumstances and to fall in love with each other again. Extramarital affairs have this kind of impact on a family. During this time there is distance between Mom and Dad, and the children resent the parent who introduced this kind of uncertainty into their family’s life. Drug abuse can put family members at a distance from each other. Unfortunately a problem like this may keep family relationships strained for years. However, once the drug abuser is delivered, then it is the obligation o ... Read More »Older Posts » |
